Anyone who loves to follow the less traveled pathways in the high country will think they have found heaven when in Colorado. The opportunities for testing your driving skills, and your vehicle's auto parts are endless. When ever I am in Silverton, Ouray, or Telluride, I head for the hills to see the quiet places that most people never will as they travel the interstate at 65 miles per hour.
I have been visiting the San Juan Mountains for the past 12 years. The San Juan Mountains are one of the places on the planet the creator spent a little extra time with. Ouray, Colorado is my favorite place to stay when I visit. Ouray is a quiet place that wealthy celebrities and their kind haven't contaminated yet. I hope Ouray stays that way for a long time to come.
I have been assisted with the content of this page by two friends that share my love of the San Juan Mountains. Jerry Clark, and Miles A. Lumbard are both experienced off-road fanatics who have made many visits to the area. We have assembled our respective collections of photos, and trail reports to help others to enjoy the San Juan Mountains. Enjoy the mountains, and Ouray while they are still the most beautiful place on Earth.
