I chose to use shingles from Raggs-to-Riches on this project. The prototype shingles where painted roof brown. I tried a new approach on painting these shingles. I used "Star Brand" paints in three different colors to get the effect you see in the photos. The base brown color was an 80/20 mix of new wood and satin black. This mix was then thinned 50/50 and sprayed on in an erratic manner. I then sprayed very thin mixes [80% thinner/20% paint] in gray and black.
