I'm using to different colors of tile grout on this project. It's also important to mention one must buy the "sanded tile-grout" rather than "non-sanded". The grout is made by Custom Building Products. It is easily obtained at any Home Depot location. I used a reddish color (#50 nutmeg) first, which was mixed to a little wet so it would flow out and adhere to the scenery base. I followed this up by sprinkling a tan color (#45 summer wheat) on top before the first layer had dried. The great thing about tile grout is it has the adhesive in it (Portland cement). It does not require wetting and gluing as per normal scenery installations. The material will crack if it is more than 1/2" thick. CBP makes 48 colors of grout. You should be able to find something that looks right for your application.
