I've always had a real soft spot for the town of Ouray, Colorado. Ouray is also not a town that you will find on many model railroads. This also added to my interest in modeling Ouray. My representation of Ouray will cover 1930-1935. These were the twilight years for rail traffic in Ouray. In fact, regular passenger service was discontinued to Ouray in 1935.

Of course, I plan to include the unique Ouray Depot structure. Those of you modeling in the S scale can obtain a laser-cut, craftsman kit of the Ouray Depot from Joe Fuss at Raggs To Riches. I also plan to include the 50-foot turntable and engine house on my layout. I'll probably use the Diamond Scale Models 65-foot HO small girder turntable. This turntable scales out to 54-feet in S scale. The engine house will be a scratch building project.
