I've always had a real soft spot for the town of Ouray, Colorado. Ouray is also not a town that you will find on many model railroads. This also added to my interest in modeling Ouray. My representation of Ouray will cover 1930-1935. These were the twilight years for rail traffic in Ouray. In fact, regular passenger service was discontinued to Ouray in 1935.
The following 2D layout plan will give you an idea of what the track layout will look like. Of course, I plan to include the unique Ouray Depot structure. Those of you modeling in the S scale can obtain a laser-cut, craftsman kit of the Ouray Depot from Joe Fuss at Raggs To Riches. I also plan to include the 50-foot turntable and engine house on my layout. I'll probably use the Diamond Scale Models 65-foot HO small girder turntable. This turntable scales out to 54-feet in S scale. The engine house will make use of an awesome kit offerd by Raggs To Riches.
