RGS Northern Division/D&RG Ouray Branch

I spent nearly two years trying to come up with a plan that captured the spirit of the Rio Grande Southern Railroad and the Ouray Branch of the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad. The layout will be a 2-level affair depicting the Rio Grande Southern from Ridgway to Vance Junction. From Vance Junction the branch line to Telluride will be modeled. The remainder of the RGS is represented by a hidden loop. The Ouray Branch of the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad sill also be included. I've got a real soft spot for Ouray, Colorado. The layout plan was created in 3rd-Planit with the help, and input, of several great friends. It's time to burn the armchair and get on with the construction!

The following layout plans should give you a general idea of what I have planned. Ther layout will be comprised of 2 levels joined by a helix. The lower level bench work and helix are complete as of January 2010. Trackwork is comolet eon the helix and lower level save the Telluraide area. I'm working on that at present.
