I have to admit that one of the primary reasons I enjoy modeling on the "dark side" is the quality of the motive power available. That's not to say that there aren't quality locomotives available in HOn3. As with all things in life, quality came at a high price in HOn3.
The move to Sn3 was no less expensive. Paying for the motive power has been a challenge to say the least. That having been said, I have never suffered a case of "buyers remorse" when dealing with PBL. I can't say enough good things about PBL. Bill Peter and his crew are top notch. They treat me like an old friend rather than just another consumer. Simply outstanding!
My first locomotive purchase was at the 2003 NNGC in Denver. Jack Walton had a few over run models from PBL's 2003 run of K-27's. I was fourtunate to find a model of RGS #455 BTW. I have subsequently purchased other items from Jack and never been disappointed. My second locomotive, RGS #40 was also purchased from Jack. You can take a look at what Jack currently has in stock at his website.
At this point, my locomotive roster is small but it continues to grow as funds permit. Please look at the following photos of the current roster.
